PANIC
Positive Answers Needed In Crisis
If the weight of your contact from CYF has become too much, if you feel you need
some confidential support and direction from the PANIC team, please click on contact
us and send us an email.
PANIC is NOT against Child Youth & Family nor any organisation. It is against tactics
used by individuals or groups within these organisations who break their own CODES
OF CONDUCT, commit perjury within the family courts and also those who fail a reasonable
standard in care and work practise.
PANIC is NOT about adding to the stress of individuals
who find themselves in the whirlpool of dishonest organisations. We do NOT feed into
the negative but support individuals in untangling the mess and in finding the strength
needed. We offer support and practical advice. If we do not have the answer we will
do all we can to find out or put you on the right track to solutions.
PANIC, as it
grows will give a list of lawyers and other professional services with experience
in cases like yours. However, it is not easy to find an honest and upfront lawyer.
You will find links to other support groups or services that may also be of help.
Our aim is to help you help yourself!
PANIC aims to do research and keep records that
will be clear indications of common errors. If these can be identified there is a
far greater chance that remedies can be found and that those performing the 'common
errors' are called to task.
PANIC, as we grow, we hope to have support people trained
in offering you one to one, mainly via email, in person or phone advocacy support.
This may mean we can help you keep good records, attend FGCs, work at identifying
weaknesses and finding remedies. Advocacy work may also include helping you with
CYFs, WINZ & Plunket. Where ever you feel you need someone we can be there.
PANIC
aims to help those who feel alone. Linking you to groups offering all forms of support
such as single parents etc. If you have a group you feel we should know about please
let us know and we will endeavour to grow our pool of support links and fun groups
for both families and individuals.
PANIC is for everyone, parents, grandparents, friends,
caregivers, relatives, workers finding the tactics of work mates hard to handle or
even the policies set out. Whatever the problem if it is becoming too much, reach
out, we are here with a helping hand.
The PANIC team would like to acknowledge the
hard work that Alicia put in to enable PANIC to enter the world of the internet with
its first site. Job well done Alicia!! Thanks!
Positive Support for families and whanau
PANIC follows the belief that there is an importance for a push for the department and its social workers follow their code of conduct to the letter and that they are made accountable when things go wrong. It also follows the belief that families in crisis need support; sometimes this comes from being able to have someone willing to listen and go over their case. Team members have learned that sometimes part of the important role can be pointing out to families that there is a need for change and thus may support the recommendations of the Department. In other cases clear mistakes or bully tactics by its social workers (even sadly, down right lies) are identified and here PANIC's team work to give the families information and if need be step in to help sort out the mess. Sometimes this is not always possible because by the time PANIC was informed the case has moved on to permanency so at this point PANIC works to ensure access etc is the best it can be. In some cases where there is a clear indication a greater step needs to be taken we will support the family to take the matter back to court.
